About the Gozo Quiz
The Gozo Quiz is an initiative of the Quizmaster himself, James Borg, from Victoria, Gozo, Malta’s sister island, hence the name of this quiz. This event aims to raise funds for GuateMalta, a foundation that provides philanthropic and financial aid to the catholic mission run by Fr Anton Grech in the Central American country of Guatemala through fund-generating events, projects, and charitable work. Both Fr Anton Grech and James Borg grew up in the same neighbourhood in Victoria, Gozo.

With the help of friends who have the mission of Fr Anton Grech at heart, the Quizmaster tries to organise this quiz once every year around the time of Christmas and New Year. The first quiz was held on 30th December 2012 in Victoria.
About the Quizmaster: James Borg

Although James is originally from the Island of Gozo, he works as an official for the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.
James always had a flair for general knowledge and many of his friends refer to him as a walking Wikipedia, but he states that he is more of a jack of all trades, a master of none. He loves trivia and he follows a lot of quizzes on television and he doesn’t miss an opportunity to participate in pub quizzes or other organised quizzes, when the opportunity arises and time permits.
James is a globetrotter. Travelling brings about an interest in geography, languages, literature, history, archaeology, art, cultures and of course food and drink! His life’s motto is to cover the Earth before the earth covers him!
